Does compatible on standard freehub mean its not compatible on an XD driver then and hence the min spec cassette is the GX one

The NX one fits Shimano splines.

Yup the NX is 11-42 and fits on a standard shimano freehub. It also weighs about the same as a boat anchor.
GX is the first of the XD driver ones and is a much better 395g ish.
