I bought a set of used RSC brakes and although they are great there is too much lever throw. I run the levers pretty close to the bars due to having smallish hands
I am looking to bleed them but does anyone have any tips to help reduce the lever throw
Thanks in advance!
You've adjusted the throw on the lever first right? RSC have took free adjust for that.
Yep, been playing with that and even fully wound in there is a fairly big throw
Got the same issue.
What I did:
When bleeding remove the spacer before the last stage (the pulling and pushing with the top syringe).
Pump the lever to push the pistons out a bit.
Do the pull/push to fill the system.
This seems to set the pistons further out, resulting in less lever throw.
IMHO the contact adjust simply moves the bite point from too far to way too far. No good for my tiny hands.
APF
Do the bleed as normal, but remove the lever syringe (and screw in the lever grubs) first. Making sure you have fresh pads in and the wheel fitted, push fluid in. This will push the pistons in further. Obviously, stop before you have contact with the rotors. It may take a couple of goes to get it perfect but it does work.
Awesome, cheers guys. Will try this tonight
