For the new Sram Guides, like the ones with the Connectamajig, do you need to use the red olive? Or can you use the older style olive and insert?

I "think" you can use the old olive.

Yeah, I assumed so - the SRAM guide states you need to use the red one, but it's still the same ID on the hose, and its still a compression fitting into the Master Cylinder. It just means it's not connectamajig.....
But... my old style barb and olive are leaking!
The guide RS thats came off my 2019 bike needed a conectamjigthing as the older barbs and olives have been phased out ..what a ball ache that was
I tried this recently, had a few old barbs so used those instead of the posh new ones that came with the brakes.
They leaked. May have been me cocking it up as I can’t actually see the difference but redid with the new red barbs and all was fine.
