Would I be right in thinking that the XX1 components are interchangeable with XO1 components?? Just curious for future upgrades. Ie changing chain & rear cassette in the future

thanks

Niall

Yes, XX1, X01 and GX are all interchangable.

XX1 and X01 are very similar mind you. Cassette and chain are the same bar the gold coating. XX1 mech has a carbon cage and the cranks are hollow as opposed to X01 which are foam filled for strength.

That’s great thanks. Just confirming for future possible upgrades as parts wear to add a bit of bling

thanks

XX1 is the XC Race focussed group.  X01 is more gravity oriented and intended to survive knocks better.  As noted, there is surprisingly little difference in weight.  As with any group, if trying to keep costs down you’ll get better results with upscale shifter on cheaper mech than the other way round. IMO, the shifter really lets GX down.

I've just swapped to Eagle and went for a,GX mech and X01 shifter for exactly the region above.

The price between gx and X01 was a bit of a pill to swallow though....
