I have a bike that comes with the reverb/shifters/brakes all in one clamp I think it's called matchmakers??. Anyway, if I want to change the brakes in the future does that leave me with only using sram stuff that's compatible?

The shifters mount fine without brakes but your brakes will need clamps to be used on another bike (£40)

It's called 'Matchmaker X' - the 'X' is the all in one system.

If you want to upgrade your brakes, it'll look neater if you go with a Matchmaker X compatible lever, that's for sure.

If you go with something else, I think the existing Reverb remote/shifter clamp can still be used without the brake lever body clamped inside it, so that only means 2 clamps overall, which isn't bad.

In case you're not supposed to mount your clamp without a brake lever body held within it, you might be able to get hold of the following part to fill in the gap:

My Reverb lever came with one fitted (I don't have SRAM brakes).
