I think it would make things a little simpler. At the moment the Classifieds is looking a little cluttered. I would suggest having the classified split into two subforums. I think it would make things from a buyers/sellers and for the people posting wanted ads.

Good Idea Yes or No?

good idea - i agree, but might result in less response to wtd adds, as i have only responded when i see a request, and don't go looking.

I dont agree, it's a bad idea - no-one would respond to wanteds (I've seen it on countless forii after its been seperated). People only respond to wanteds when they spot them in passing while looking at the for sales, otherwise they'd be putting them up for sale anyway wouldnt they!

Because it's cluttered you have to scan down the pages, this means more ads get looked at, it just so happens that there are a lot of wanteds at the moment, more than I remember before - must be a sign of the financial times!

How about splitting bike stuff from OT stuff but keeping FS and WTD together?

Bit miffed with all these how to improve classified posts. Do you really buy and sell kit on that regular a basis that you need it further refining? Seriously, use the search function. Its there for a reason or do you only look for items for sale in the past week/few days?.. and couldnt you have added this thought to an existing thread on the subject?

completely agree, i dont see a problem with the way the classifieds are.
there is a bit of rose tinted glasses about the old forum as well,
back in my day ..... etc etc. 😀

the classifieds has always been a bit of a fast paced section!

so no! 😆

Bad Idea

Just finished building and 99% of the time when I put up a WTD: ad I'd get what I was after.

I have the classifieds to thank for helping me find a Heckler frame and also a Summer Season in the last year.

How about it just working like the old forum showing threads in the order they are posted.

This reply going to the top of the list is silly, it's like one of the kiddy DH forums with 3 week old threads coming back to the top of the list.

I use the classifieds a lot, as you seem to as well.

I look for the most current items for sale. I only thought that it MAY be a good idea as I've noticed a lot of WTD ads in the past week or so. If I am looking for something to buy it takes a little longer to seperate the wheat from the chaff(sp)!

I could use the search function but it's not great and I have to sift through a lot of shite I don't need to look at. Rather like when FS is cluttered with WTD.

Only a thought.
