The bottle mount on the seattube has come lose on my bike. It is still in the frame but pulls out a few mm and spins round. It is an aluminium frame, will a bit of superglue hold it or will it need a proper repair, any idea where/how much it is likley to cost? Cheers
A bit of glue may secure it, if not you'll need to get it to a frame repairers such as Argos Cycles, allow for £15 - £25 I'd guess.
Or, if you want to save a few quid, and the hassle of sending it to a frame repairers:
Get some Araldite Rapid Steel adhesive. If you can pull the thing out completely, then good. Superglue may be ok, but the Araldite is the stuff. I've glued an un-bonded frame back together with it!
You need to find a shop with a rivnut tool.
Or try adapting this this,

Gather some attractive friends together and use it to play a game.

You've always got to have one real honker in there to add a frisson of risk IMO.
It's a "rivnut" and you may find someone who will pop a new one in.
Otherwise you could try araldite, I don't know about RB's stuff.
ADH, what are you doing this weekend? 😉
I've got the same problem, but the bottle mount is still on. If I hacksaw the bolt heads off, the ends will still be in the frame and unremoveable. So how do you get out of this? Or just squirt a load of glue around the
holes?
