[Closed] Speculative inquiry on asset consolodation
I'm wondering what I might reasonably expect to ask on the classifieds for the following:
2004 Orange P7 Pro (silver)- all original kit, aside from grips and DMR 12 pedals, but reasonable condition as, in all honesty, used for well under three hundred miles, and of that probably a third on the rough stuff.
2008 Orange 5 Pro (apple green) - either frame only or with all original kit (apart from pedals, as above), again in great condition 'cos rarely used, and probably done half distance of P7 in same split.
2005 Kona Dew (light blue) - with fitted mudguards and Blackburn frame on back, and the rest of kit is original. Again, a similar usage distance but all road.
If truth be told, the distances quoted are probably high estimations as I don't 'count' the miles as such, but having re-examined my life of late I have to admit I don't ride my bikes as much as I like to think I do. I'm a fantasist, of sorts. I read the mag, and peruse the forum, but I'm never 'out there' living the life or earning the stripes. I could make all sorts of excuses about being stuck in the city, or having no friends who regularly mountainbike, but that's too easy.
So, I fell for the marketing/image, did a little research and spent some cash trying to be a part of it. However, one can't buy one's way in. One has to want to be in, and If I wanted in that badly I woulda made more of an effort by now.
Other aspects of my life have changed a lot of late, hence my tentative inquiry about what level of funding I could hope to raise from selling these assets.
I feel sad about it 'cos there is joy to be had from being out there on two wheels. I know that from the limited experience I have.
However, it seems an extravagant waste to keep these three gathering dust, and it's time for change.
If I've depressed anyone with this tale of woe on a Saturday night, please accept my apology. P'raps I'll have another whisky now, and put some maudlin tunes on.
Thanks for any knowledgeable advice all the same.
For moments like this I like a Talisker (1 cube of ice) & Radiohead or Zero7 HtH
Sunday night bump, whilst I partake of BBC4's Family Guy specials......
