As above really, will the Roval XD driver be likely to fit?
It mentions only being able to fit certain versions of the Roval branded DT Swiss hubs?

I notice there is a (cheaper) DT Swiss xd driver available to?

A always, thanks for the info!

The Roval star ratchet XD will fit hubs with the DT swiss star ratchet internals

The DT/Roval pawl XD will fit DT hubs (or rebranded hubs) with the pawl internals

I've two Roval wheels and while the hubs look identical they aren't..., consequential one has a SRAM freehub and one has a Shimano freehub.

I'm sure if I worked in a Spesh dealership I could order in a load to find what fitted.

Thanks guys.....
So from what theocb says, in theory, there is an ๐Ÿ˜€ driver available for the Roval hub whatever pawl type it has fitted?

Sorry, NO I'm not sure about that!

The Specialized Roval Hi Lo rear wheel doesn't use DT hubs (to be honest I'm not sure that Specialized Rovals ever used the DT pawl freehub)

It sounding more complicated by the second :0) It isn't..
Do you know what wheels you have? Are you looking to buy a XD driver for them or do you have a spare from else where?

Are you happy to pop the freehub body off yourself or will you be getting someone to do the job for you?

I think I may have over complicated things.
To try to clear up (or make things worse :0):-
3 options I know of as below.

1) You have a Specialized Hi Lo rear hub which 'MAY' be possible to convert but I think Specialized will be the only people to help you get that spare part. (It's a cheap hub on a cheap wheelset and I wouldn't spend any significant amount changing the freehub body.)

2) You have a Rebranded DT Hub with Star ratchet internals, you can buy the XD driver to fit. Pricey though but a good quality hub. As pictured

3) you have a DT Hub with 3 pawl system, you can buy the XD driver to fit (A quick bit of research shows Specialized DO use the 3 pawl hub, mid range hub and not worth spending big money on, although I noticed Evans have an ex-demo one that has the 142plus end cap reasonably cheap)

Hope that helps a bit but i'm sure there is something I have missed :0)

EDIT: Make sure you buy one with the '142plus' XD specific end cap!

Thanks for taking the time to look into that for me obe, very kind of you!

Still a bit complex for my old grey matter. Not helped by not having the wheel to hand to actually look at/ take apart.

It is indeed specced as a "hi lo" hub and as you say it might not be worth me spending a lot just to get the XD drive.

The Hi Lo hub is something Specialized have been using for years, it does now come on some bikes with an XD so it might be poss to switch them over.

If you were keen to go 11 speed in the short term, you could always pop a Shimano 11 speed cassette straight on to the shimano freehub body currently on the hub.

This will still work with your Sram 11 speed kit but you do lose the 10T cog of course.
Then consider a switch to Sram XD cassette when you upgrade the wheels.
