Need to put some new cleats on my existing shoes, as realized they are pretty well worn. Dug through my toolbox and found a set of unused SH51 cleats. I've used various Shimano and Richey SPDs over the years, currently using XTR M9000 - I presume these will work fine? I know there used to be various single/multi-release cleats - and cleat compatibility was a real issue with the Richey pedals.

Yep, they'll be fine, they are the standard Shimano cleat and what most (all?) Shimano SPD pedals come with. In fact, I suspect the pair you're replacing will be the same model.

SH51 - normal cleats, black
SH56 - multi release, silver/brass

So yup, they'll work.
