Am getting a new set of pedals due to having to sell my superstars with my old bike and was after something different. Originally had a set of E13's on order but CRC keep changing the delivery date. Am trying to choose between the spank spike or DMR vaults. Anyone own either and can give some advice. Have to be bought from CRC though as I have a load of vouchers/credit notes. So any other pedal ideas will be welcomed up to the £100 mark.

I've had a few pairs of Straitline SC pedals and the build is excellent. They feel good , especially for a slightly larger foot and you can rebuild them literally in a few mins. Sorry I've not tried your preferred two , but I've had plenty of Spank stuff and it's always been good quality so I would lean towards the Spikes .

Pedals can be a bit like saddles in that what one person loves, plenty more hate. I really like the feel of the DMRs and been very happy using them. They're big, thin and light, although if you're a pedal basher they maybe too light.

I'm liking the vaults I'm running, as mentioned big and thin, nice concave foot bed. Make sure you tighten or preferably loc-tite the pins though as they're not so tight out of the factory....

Vaults are crazy grippy, even without special riding shoes, just with DC skate shoes.

Tried some Vaults last weekend. Even in SPD'd MP66s they felt really really nice compared to my Wah Wahs. Definitely a "stand in" rather than "stand on" pedal.

Haven't even seen a pair of Spikes in teh flesh to compare with.

Not only are you keeping a set you didn't pay for, you're selling them? Blimey 😯

Wasn't really made clear though was it? The fact you were told to keep a pair of £80 pedals is probably an extremely rare occurrence. I'd understand a set of brake pads or socks or something, but a pair of Vaults is very surprising. Not questioning what you've said, just surprised.
