Anyone in?

My first race in a year and im currently preparing by not riding for 2 weeks and consuming far too much cheese & wine on a beach holiday in France

drive back tomorrow then head down Friday after work , will be arriving late and putting tent up in the dark

forecast is looking good, which is good because I don't want to have to change my rear tyre & insert

Not racing as we ride these trails throughout the year, Scott and some of the locals have put in hours of work and the trails are superb. There's been just enough rain to damp the dust and increase the grip. You'll have a great time.

Not me. I was about to say something about a lack of fitness, but that excuse can’t hold up to 2 weeks of no riding + French cuisine!

I was tempted to do this but I don’t really have any local race mates anymore so a race weekend trip has lost it’s appeal nowadays 😕

Yep, although I’m doing it on an ebike, so can’t wait to get smoked by a fattie on the power stage running a chipped Amflow 😆

Well that was epic, weather was fantastic (by that i mean far too hot!)  properly challenging and some fast and fun stages, especially liked the deceptively named Turns in the Ferns that was actually steep loose shale and rock.

I blew out a few corners and followed someone through the tapes at one point, but considering ive not raced in ages was pretty happy with 33rd in Vets, next year I'll be moving to grand vets!

Nice one, they’ve had a few very wet ones over the years but that looks scorching, must have been tiring. Always found their events well run and pretty chill.

Can confirm, it was bloody hot. Really quite glad I chose to race the eeb, even if practice was a big old loop to get 10 stages & a variation in. I think I did 2000m of elevation with seeding.

Glad of the addition of a ‘proper’ power stage, that was 5 mins of suffering.

Despite a couple of lie downs & off track excursions, I managed to end up 5th. Turns out Vets eebers are as fast as the pedal bike category 😆
