Whilst I support the sentiment, having signed a couple of petitions recently regarding the forest sell-off I'm fed up of being bombarded with emails begging me to sign other petitions. And entering your email address is mandatory.

Anyway if you take the ferry you miss the nice bit of singletrack up to Goaty Beach!

I used to use that service all the time when i worked in Hamble. Ferry broke down one day and the que to get back over from southampton was huge. Decided to cycle round and realized that it was quicker to just cycle round instead. Not used it since, at least not with a bike. Looking at the reasons they give for adding the surcharge, sounds like a load of cobblers to me.

Love the train company excuse, presumably if the're imposing the surcharge because other train companies charge it, you are allowed to take your bike on the pier train. I've yet to see a bike on that train, might have to give a go just to prove a point.

40mpg sorry its not my petition and I was not keen about the mandatory email either.
