The usual venue. Jacksons Scrote at 7.30 - 7.45 for a jaunt around the dogging and cottaging hotspots of South Manchester.

The usual liquid refreshment stops will be studiously observed. We're contemplating a big Didsbury/Cheadle/Styal/Airport/Alrincham loop. Then again, we may just ride to the Didsbury and sink a few.

All welcome. Corsets optional. Hip flasks compulsary. Tally Ho!

Look at how the Mancs are once again copying us Londoners! Look!

Actually, can you fellers organise an Urban Pootle of yer own, you know; all the seedier and run down stuff, as well as your city's treasures. And post pics. I'd really like to see what hidden delights Manchester, and indeed many cities, has to offer.

RudeBoy. We've been doing this sh1t for years mate. Weekly. We've all got the (drink-related) scars to prove it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I like the idea of the urban tour with photo's though. Watch this space

I know, I know!

I'd be well up for seeing pics of 'Hidden Manchester', though.

if it's a leisurely jaunt, i may turn up over-equipped on the norco springy bike binners... unless i'm feeling any confidence with the stiffee (still not got around to swapping the drivetrain to a 2x9 from the 1x8 thug it it currently)...

I'm probably going to use my overkill bike as well fella. The hardtails got the ISIS death creak. AGAIN!

haha, that's the stiffee's other 'feature' at the moment!
i figured rather than [s]waste money on[/s] buy another ISIS BB, it was time to change the setup completely and make it more of an all rounder... so it's off with the e.13 and hussefelt crankset, and on with a stylo AM double with bash, all i need now is a front mech and 9 speed shifters... but it's taking time to get the right stuff for the right price, plus i've been riding the big bike lately anyway...

I'd like to join in if I'm welcome. Would you know before hand if it's going to be a full ride or a ride for a bit and spend more time in the pub(s) kind of evening or is it decided on the spot? I don't really do pubs you see.

Where abouts do you ride out of interest. I'm in altrincham but have no idea where a loop could be formed from here without too many roads or flat riding.

As and when the nights are lighter, I do promise to make it out with the SMM again (it's been nearly 2 years).

barca - I do believe the pub is a key element of the evening....

Telemaster - it's all flat, but there's some fun stuff in the woods. For which, I believe, binners has relaxed the corset requirements.

Any maps/tips/directions for these woods you talk of? Is it stuff you've made yourselves?

Thanks for the tip OMITN. Looks like I'm out then. Apologies for the interruption.

barca - don't fully discount it. XHX, for example (not that I've met the chap) doesn't drink. handsomedog (late of this parish, I think) also doesn't drink, and has been out with the corset gang.

Suggest you get yourself onto the SMM yahoo group and ask binners & co what the sketch is.

telemaster - nothing man made (I don't think) but just the "woods" near Jackson's Boat where there's some singletrack.

It's ideal territory for a rigid SS, but quite a laugh zipping around with the corset gang...

A question if you don't mind - if there's a pub stop, do you bring locks or place an armed guard on the bikes?

if i'm there, i'm there... don't wait around though.

snowslave - there will probably be enough people to stand guard outside whilst others go in for refreshments. If Jacksosn Boat is visited after the ride, thats safe enough anyway.

Cool. Seeing where it is I'll swap over tyres onto my hybrid - if I get it done in time see ya there (I live quite close to the pub!)

Sorry I missed out on the ride, was very inconveniently banned from the forum for swear filter evasion. Let me know when the next one's occurring
