so we've got Freeview built into the telly along with Freesat, we have a Humax box to record Freesat but do I need a 'special' box to record Freeview or can I record on a DVD/hard-drive recorder thats lying dormant in the garage?
The reason I need to record Freeview is that I intend to get ESPN which isn't available on Freesat.
Phew!
Ta. (I bet Ton knows) ๐Ÿ˜‰

essel, if the tv has a external output (scart or composite) port free, yes you can.

But you'll have to have the TV on & tuned to the channel you want to record

thats ok, I'll be in bed or at work. I knew it'd have to be on the channel but does the telly need to be on?
