Probably...check also, your running shoes. As with anything sporty...start small and build up.

Biking shortens your calf muscles, so you will need to stretch them, a lot, mainly after the run!

It takes a few runs for the muscle to adapt - I get this everytime I have a layoff from running. As long as you are not over doing it an icepack will help.

This is quite a good article showing both the soleus and gastrocnemius stretches and the differences between the stretches required.......

i had really sore calf muscles after running, but i've been running more than riding for the last few months and the sore calfs are not as severe these days.
i think cycling does make it worse, but stretching does help. i also find running off road has also helped balance my legs out and improve my running.
i now do some slow and fast off road runs and also do some sprints on another day.
the calf pains are now only as bad as my general leg aches

Ahh the old "check your shoes/ get computer analysis" guff. Start gently and don't over do it, little and often. Concentrate on your form rather than trying to muscle your way, lift your feet don't push off. DON'T get heavily cushioned corrective shoes, they will only cause you problems in the long run ( no pun intended) most importantly enjoy it! ๐Ÿ˜€

Probably just DOMS as you're not use to running and should ease the more you do it. As above stretch afterwards and keep hydrated, and start gently then build the milage up slowly.
