She's got a long way to go to beat the men's record though. 75,065 miles! Over 200 miles a day. Ouch!
Wow, impressive stuff, hat's off to Mrs. Flemming
I just read Dave barters book about the history of the year record. A good read if your interested...
Steve Abraham is in the midst of a go at the men's record, incredible effort, check out oneyeartimetrial.org.uk or follow him on Strava, mind blowing.
Steve Abraham's effort is made more incredible by the fact that he had to start again a few months in due to a broken leg.
Yeah, his commitment is amazing, over 200 miles a day every day, love it when he shows up on our local Strava segments. Think there's another guy having a go, US based?
US guy (Kurt Searvogel) was doing well, was 600 miles up on the record on a couple of occasions, went minus, clawed back up to 400 miles ahead of the record, but is now sat at minus 300 again. It's doable, as he has something to aim at, still has 8 weeks, and could just churn out some crazy long all day and night rides for the last week, but he's not going to break the record by a massive margin much would be my guess... He's in Florida too, so the weather doesn't have the year round differences of the UK.

And I think the phrase 'start again' is used quite loosely... A week or two off, then back on and preparing to 'start again', by doing daily 50 mile rides pedalling with one leg.
Good luck to her.
