Anyone used either and your thoughts? The Bike Radar review reckons the low-top version (X-Float) doesn't have enough padding around the ankle, true? I haven't read that in any other reviews, of which there aren't that many. Also, how do they size up? I'm normally a 9.

I bought the X Shazam from CRC while they were cheap.
They are high top and are excellent.
Plenty of ankle support and they grip really well too.
More grip than the AM41s I had been using.
The sizing is pretty normal too.

Ok nice one. Found another review saying there's not much padding or support on the x floats so I think I'll probably go for the high top version. What's the sole like? I'm still yet to find anything as good as my old orchid bmx shoes, they had the right balance of stiffness and pedal feel. Etnies are too thin feeling and Loteks are far too stiff.

I got a pair of high-top ones from the CRC sale, I'm really pleased with them. I had freeriders before that and the sombrios have much more padding and feel nice and comfy. I'm a 8 and the 8's were spot-on. I wouldn't pay full RRP for them but for £50 they were a good buy.

Ok sounds good to me! They're on sale at crc at the minute so I'll have to take advantage 🙂 never been happy with my etnies rvm they're a bit flimsy.

Can't really go wrong if they are on sale.
The soles are stiff enough to pedal efficiently but also provide great feedback.

Got some of the high tops, can't remember which and am very pleased so far, stiff enough and protected enough. They have a colour scheme designed by somebody from St Dunstan' but I am sure that won't bother you young folk.
