As my x2 never made it thinking maybe I should upgrade.
Anyone got one, or bought just the lamp unit?
Yes, it's big pile of shite.
I picked up a head to use with an 8.4v 11.000 battery I have.
The x3 isn't as powerful as my U2 inton with both on max. The biggest issue is the x3 can only be run on max for 2 mins before it becomes so hot it's untouchable. It just doesn't have the mass to dissipate the heat.
If you want to us it on medium only that's fine. however, if you intend to do that you may as well buy a different light.
As a guide, the inton is rated at 2200 lumens with about 1600 out the front.
Its a bike light, if you're needing to run it on high, that should mean that you are moving at a good pace to cool it off. Its not designed to sit on a table at full power!
I have the 2x XM-L light and found low and med were usually more than enough for anything, so heat wasn't too much of an issue.
It WAS moving at the time of testing and still got way too hot.
