After this thread :-

Slimmed the choice down to either the

Or

Fusion

Going to be used over Winter day and night riding. Anyone got either ? How are they ? Suitable for using next to the skin ?

Cheers all.

Air Defence best worn over a base layer..

kit..

I have had an air defence for about 3 years. it's a bit rought next to skin and as said above goes best with a thin base layer - merino works well for me. It is very warm though - I have found that if the temp is above maybe 6 or 7 deg it's too hot. it is at it's best around 2 or 3 deg. When below zero I stick a gilet on top. On really cold night rides, with a wind and well sub zero, I wear a shell on top too and it's very cosy -)

so, for me, it's my fav cold winter top, but doesn't get that many outings as it's often not cold enough.

My most used winter combination is merino base and Endura FS 260 on top, with either Gilet or shell if rqd

The new fusion is superb, its kinda like a thin Stealth at the front and arms with a fleecy material at the back, its not as warm as a stealth and a good bit more breathable, it will be used for the majority of my winter rides. Its also pretty waterproof. An excellent piece of kit!
