Roadbikes drivetrain needs to last 3 more months, then it'll be a re spray, new groupo, and possibly some carbon bit and pieces.

Possibly some wider bars for the Cham.

It's all go here... 🙂

I've taken a leaf from the bike manufacturers and have completed my 2013 build - Today!

Had my Genesis Altitude (which I converted to a singlespeed, last year) powder-coated. It's a bit of a trigger's broom, as I've also sprayed the fork lowers black - to match the frame - then fitted...

* A Shimano LX Hollowtech setup (To replace the Octalink BB & cranks, that finally died)
* An SS specific chain-ring from VeloSolo.
* A new set of Deore brakes (so that I could pass the existing ones on to a bike that my mate uses, upgrading him from cable to hydraulic)
* New SS spacers on the freewheel, to give better chain line tweaking options.
* A new seat-clamp that will hopefully slip less that the old one.
* SuperStar grips, as the old ones had just about worn down to nothing.
* A new headset, as the old one had seen better days.
* Custom decals for the frame & forks.

The chain-ring, freewheel spacers, grips, seat-clamp, headset and decals are all gold which, against the plain black of the rest of the bike, gives a bit of a JPS look.

It's too dark to take pictures right now, but I may post some tomorrow.

It may not be to everybody's taste, but it's my treat to myself, to celebrate the fact that I turned 50 this year and am still enjoying mucking about on bikes.

Went for a quick spin down the hill to the shops and back - super smooth and stealth fighter silent - can't wait to get out on the trails 🙂

Cy n' Paul have well developed plans underway to introduce a shorter travel Rocket, a more "UK trail friendly" 120mm to 140mm all day trail conquering machine built out of steel tubing!....sign me up right now.

I don't like plastic bikes nor alloy bikes as they all look like ugly hydroformed/moulded pigs, but that's just my opinion and others may disagree.

Thats a shame really because a plastic one would be pretty cool

There's a few trees down in the local woods that I'd like to do something about and some drainage issues that I could maybe make a bit better.. And if I get all that done there's a wood that would be perfect for a trail.

At some point I'll be getting a 29er HT to run rigid and SS. I'll move the bits over from my Inbred and either get some Superstar/Stans wheels or rebuild the existing hubs with new rims. Need to find some cash and then decide between Inbred, Scandal, Swift, Fortitude and Mariachi. I'm in no rush but I'd like to have it for Charlie's bash in May.

Mainly my fitness, as nearly 2 years of intermittent (at best) riding has left me out of shape and very overweight.

Also, some wheels (road, MTB and CX). And a pompino, though I can see that taking some time.

Some new stuff for my road bike. Bars, stem, saddle, wheels and tyres!

New mtb too. Not sure what at present. Swinging between a short travel full suss and a long travel ht. wheelsize will definitely be 650b though.

No new bikes, got 7 and not riding enough, though I might get a new commuter that fits better.

More likely some new running shoes.

If I didn't have to save for an engagement ring then my plans would be more elaborate!

Looking at switching the parts from my Kona Caldera to an On-One 456 or similar with suitable upgrade of the forks.

Was considering an ASR 5 but rumours of a 5" travel SB with 650b wheels may make me hold on for a while.

Still want a steel tourer/audax though.

No new bikes here either, having built MrSchmancy up in June I'm really happy with him.. However my Roadie is looking sad sitting in the corner so I may get a new set of wheels and strip and replace all the bits that rub together.. but can't justify buying a new Roadie when this ones been custom built for me anyhoo's.

But for some reason I've been looking at LOOK's 695 in white and lusting.

New long Gilles berthoud mudguards without dents for my singular osprey.

Maybe do cycle to work for a new ss cross bike or something. 😀

And hopefully once my baby daughter is bigger around this time next year santa might build a scoot bike 😀

I'm wanting to replace my (to be fair nothing wrong it but I fancy a change) 2009 kona dawg with something similar but from a 2011 or newer vintage. Just need a frame and have £500 to spend so if anyone has anything that might fit in their garage let me know...

The bits will be coming off of my Handjob and going on to either an El Guapo or a Covert. I'll probably build the Handjob up with a lighter build later in the year.

I'll carry on riding my Bontrager Race - so no change there - but I do have the following plans...

i.) Building up my olde (circa '94) Bontrager Race into a 1x9 RTB/mutant crosser.

ii.) Getting my Bontrager Privateer frame resprayed. Unlike most other Bontys (whether Santa Cruz or Trek) it's got a 1&1/8th headtube, which allows a bit more choice when it comes to forks. I'll probably build it up with risers & a shorter stem, which is something of a departure for me...

iii.) A Surly Cross Check for commuting & pub tours. Maybe.

For my Off Road delectation I'm going to build a Transition Carbon Covert, fitted with Hammerschmidt, reverb & BOS Deville 160's, and then I'm going to fit the SRAM electric drive that they currently put on an Electra Townie, to a Strait 8 as my Road commute device, you may eat your hearts out starting now.
