I do tend to leave them thinking they must have a place in the world (somehow) but with so many of the digusting slimy buggers on the paths some nights it would be very easy to wreck havoc in the slug world by riding over every single of the slimy horrible things.

I went on a slug rampage on the bike once when I was a kid. It wasn't nice, slug guts all over legs and bike, and I felt pretty bad afterwards. I tend to take wide detours around them ever since.

take a tub of table salt with you and leave a ring of salt round each slug and let them make their own decision

bit harsh, atleast leave them a mug of beer inside the ring.

I leave alone unless they invade my house in which case it's open season. Slugagedon saturday night, came home in the early hours hit the kitchen light and 7 of 'em attempted to scarper, I'm sad to say none of them made it, hell of a puddle in the bin sunday morning ๐Ÿ˜ณ

either beer traps and let the birds eat them
or rent the space under your shed out to a hedgehog.

We've had one recently that we couldn't find. I don't know how it got into the living room, but it was crawling around at night leaving shiny trails over the carpet. Drove us mad as we couldn't track it down. We found it after a bit of insomnia made me get up and go downstairs to the sofa in the early hours, and there it was in the middle of the carpet.

they were laying waste to my garden earlier in the year, so beer traps went out, apparently there more into wife beater than fancy french bottles (wot I had in the back of the fridge)

If you where a hedgehog, what would you prefer a nice warm and fresh slug just out for a midnight slime or a dead mushy one run over and deliberately killed by a murderous cyclist.

or think of slug as a conservative voter, you know theyre there and sometimes they come out at night, but youd never want to hurt the poor things, youd just walk around them them without even acknowledgeding their presence, and once past theyre forgotton about.

I leave em, it's just better that way. Just think that we're all "slugs" to something else to get a bit of perspective.

I'm hoping not to be a slug in the next life, it's too low on the food chain.
