We will have the results up here too shortly with searchable bits and fancy calculations so you can work out who was the average slowest and stuff like that ๐Ÿ˜‰

Njee - Great result! Bet your happy with that. A 34 min lap is great! My best was a 37min. I was determined to get around my last lap in time. Funny thing is we only just worked out it could be possible! So my teammate who was after me had already had a shower/got changed etc... he wasn't "that" annoyed I don't think ๐Ÿ˜†

As I came through the bombholes near the finsih I could see all the lurkers! I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to get through, however shouting seemed to work!

Crazy-legs - I'd love to see that video if possible? Was made even more difficult because I had to give him my bike as well as his was broken! Could you email it? Youtube if easier? Thanks!

And suspiciously Joolze didn't get any photos of me or Mark. We did race, honest! ๐Ÿ™‚

So... who clotheslined those two narrow trees in the singletrack? There were a lot of chunks out of the bark at about handlebar height?

Sadly the 34 minute lap belongs to Gee, best I could muster was three 38s, so you were quicker!

The support was great at the end, we were shouting for you to get in ๐Ÿ™‚

Didn't go over the bars, but did wallop a few trees especially those two narrow ones. Not sure 730mm bars are the way fwd on tight woody singletrack. ๐Ÿ™„

Ah I see! i'm not sure I could have gone 3 minutes faster, such a good effort!

I couldn't beleive it, as I came through near the finsh people were really shouting! I wasn't sure if it was for me to get in, in time. But it certainly helped!!

I think everyone walloped a few trees, I certainly did, can imagine it was very 'interesting' on 730mm bars!

I raced round with 810mm bars - some of those gaps were "interestingly tight" especially at night with slippery roots.

Will, there's about 3.5hrs of footage which needs paring down to make a proper 3-4min video. I'll post a link on here when it's been edited and is actually "proper". It's not me editing it BTW, I just shot it! Should be up within a day or so...

Were you in the 'dog leg' through the horse obstacle thingy before you turned right, back into the arena at halfway? Someone was filming there when I rode past once.

I was in various places at various times! Black Singletrack T-shirt (or a black Endura jacket on Saturday). Was so busy looking through a tiny video screen that I didn't have chance to recognise people!

Anyone know where to find any other photos? Saw several people taking photos throughout the weekend (joolzed, had a look through yours but there aren't any of me - some excellent shots though)

I played 'human pinball' in the narrow sections on the majority of my 26laps.

My shoulders look very red today.

naffrider, going by your lap times, it looks like you took it easy on the last lap.
I take it you have a support crew watching the live results and they told you you couldn't gain a place by doing an extra lap or lose a place by lurking, so you took the easy option ?

๐Ÿ™‚

My left knee (weird as it's usually my right) had had it by the end, managed to work out 4th couldn't catch me and I had no chance of catching 2nd, got my dad to confirm though, just to be sure, and had a little sit down for 20min, that was nice.

Top ride done by yourself too, well done.

Boo did you have to withdraw Donkeysrock, I came around the corner in the singletrack somewhere and some bloke sparko ont he floor! He looked at a raelly odd angle, someone with him so I carried on to get mrashall who already knew. Hope he's okay!

There's lots of flashy lycra and males with shaven legs at this event I noticed this year!

Anybody else feel sorry for the lady Marshall at the top of the 2nd climb, just after the left hand uphill hairpin bend.

I made a point of saying hello, as she looked pretty fed up sat at the top of that hill on her own.

yup I saw her and thought how boring, I'm sure in the past they've used like kiddie army cadets and set them up in pairs. All the marshalls I saw looked mind numbingly bored!

She did look really bored yes. I said hello to her every time I rounded the corner. She was doing a crossword so I shouted "4 down, 5 letters, BORED" which raised a smile. Did they really need someone on that part ? !

Some pics taken by the other half. Should be in numerical order, just hover over the image to see the file name. Some racers have more than one photo and the second photo has a 2 after the race number (e.g. 2092 is the second photo of #209).

SITS 2011

If anybody wants the full size files then email me (in profile).

Cheers,

P

The rain/hail came just as i started my 3rd lap on semi-slicks. Didn't take long to realise i was going to struggle. Came off on the triple arrow bit but mangaged to land on some nice soft nettles! Ego wasn't too dented as the riders before and after me also fell off.

Track soon dried out though and we had a great weekend!

15th out of 41 in the Mens Pairs.

The first biblical downpour started just as I handed over to my team mate, he went out and did a double on Furious Freds, despite being offered some other wheels after a lap! Rather him than me for sure!

Haha - yeah Dave I stopped for a cake in the woods. Got the picnic blanket out and everything.

Next year let's do that!
