Im looking at a Thur to Monday ski/board trip flying into Geneva.

Can anyone recommend me a small resort nearby and possibly accommodation? (accom is the tricky thing as most places will only do the full week).

We are int level and already been to Cham and Courmayeur so looking for somewhere else.

Thanks

Les Carroz.

Small village connecting into the Flaine area and very close to Geneva

St Jean d'aulpes has its own runs or you can take the bus into the Portes du Soleil.

Morrilon, flaine, morzine, led carroz

All of the grand massif should be fine and easy to get to. Hours drive.

Samoens, check out the giffre caravan park. They have some chalets, campotel, that you can rent by the night, week or weekend. It's right next to the gondola, and a few minutes walk into the village, which is beautiful. Unlike most other ski resorts. You can get the bbus to chamonix thought and there's shed loads of accom there. Or Le Gets, morzine area.

Les Carroz is great. Been skiing there for years. 265km of piste (Grand Massif) and connects to Flaine, one of the most snow sure resorts in the Alps.

Thanks all - will check them out. We are not looking for a big resort. In fact more the opposite.

IF you're willing to trip up the Rhone valley a bit then Haute Nendaz is a lovely resort. Used to go there with Mrs Stoner for a number of years, about 10 yrs ago. I think it might have got a bit pricey since then though.

Try Megeve. Its an hour from Geneva and real nice for your level. Long smooth pistes and very picturesque.

Have a look at Montriond by Morzine, quick access via short bus ride to the Ardent lift station which takes up straight into the PDS via Linderets. Loads of options from there...

Verbier is only a couple of hours away and gives you an amazing drive around the lake.

Les gets, morzine.... All part of the 'ports de soleil' . Amazing place for skiing, drinking, eating, and friendly hospitality. I go a few times every season. About an hour or so transfer from Geneva airport up the mountains!!!
