I get the elegance of modular cable/hose guides that leave no extraneous braze ons, but oh my, if you've trying to route a stiff hydraulic brake hose and 2 stiff gear outers (none of which want to play ball and stay in place) through those fiddly little sandwich clamps it's a nightmare!

I've managed to secure the rear brake hose and rear gear cable, but the minute I try to get the final outer in everything just pops out of the clamp.

People with nimbler fingers than I have clearly done it but I'm really struggling; I'm starting to think that I might velco tape everything to the toptube.

Is there a knack or do I just need more delicate fingers?

They work fine, I think, but the alu bolt is a bit soft and prone to threading. I bunched all the cables together with a piece of string before fitting in the clamp as I found that made then less prone to popping out as I tightened the clamp down.

I have a Puffin and a Rooster.

I must admit to using P Clips on both bikes with SS bolts.

I like the simplicity of the modular guides but I couldn't get them to play ball and that was only routing a rear brake and rear derailleur.
