Well that's awfully nice of you

Is there really any need for this?

Shanec - Beeri looks worth a ride so will have to check it out. Any other recommends other than Ben Sheman or Canada Park?

Did Mitzpe Ramon two weeks ago. Fantastic riding and a beautiful place. Where are you based? I'm in Herzliya.

What got deleted?

Personally I wouldn't choose to holiday in a country with such a poor human rights record, but each to their own I guess.

I inferred that, despite Shanec's warm invitation, mountain bikers of a certain nationality might not be welcome.

uk then, where people without jobs have their benefits reduced, where the number of bedrooms affects the rent levels paid to allow them to live in their home, where ill people are told to get a job, when few jobs are available, and where in one part of the uk the locals are allowed to riot and fight over a flag, and lots more human rights failings.

Oh is it really necessary to bring any mention of Israel to a political debate? FFS.

Back on topic my mate now lives out there and has posted this:

It depends how strongly you feel about the treatment of the Palestinians by the state of Israel. A lot of people, me included, feel that Israel's attitude and behaviour requires a response on every level, every time. That's kind of what happens when you ghettoise and murder civilians.

I've been to Israel 3 times by the way. You will struggle to find a more welcoming and hospitable people in my experience. This is a direct contrast to the appalling subjugation and violation of the Palestinian people by the armed forces and government.

Is this how they clear new trails?

Sorry to say that although it is undoubtedly a beautiful part of the world, the continued encroachment of the illegal settlements and destruction of Palestinian homes doesn't really do much to sell Israel as an ethical tourist destination.
