Right got three bikes, road MTB and cross and they're all for racing.
In an attempt to 'save' them later this year I was thinking about putting a s/s cross together as I have everything bar a rear wheel and standard levers.
I've gone on Singulars mailing list, but TBH there isn't much about is there?
Oh and forget Singlecross's sorry but to me they're an eyesore.

There is the Pompino, but that would mean running a BMX freewheel on a 120mm hub.
Early memories of freewheels on my old s/s aren't fond ones, but how are they lasting on crossers?

Not all Pompinos have 120mm rear ends, mine is a 135 which works just fine with normal road hubs...

I believe the new ones are going to be 135mm as well, although disc only.

Also, I know it's not specifically a cross bike, but the Cotic Roadrat would do the job too wouldn't it?

Good shout clink.
I think all the 135 Pompinos have gone.
Whatever I get it would be nice if it was good enough to be a back up race bike.
Traitor
Singular
Kona
Pompino
So far.
130mm hub spacing means compatability with all my other wheels, and cross wheels are usually my hand me downs from the road bike.

Just been speaking to the Traitor UK dealer. That frameset is very tasty.

How much? I found it last week would love one but can't justify it for my 2-3 races per season!

Retail will be about £499 for Columbus frame & forks, though there not here yet.
I've got 11 races on the calender, plus I trained all winter on the crosser. Hence I want to save all my Shimano running gear, plus have a hoot.
Edit, though that is perfectly race capable and ideal for the flat courses, Blenhiem anyone!

I'm in no rush and both the Singular and the Traitor are not available. I'll be waiting to see what the finished Singular looks like and I'll take it from there, but it will be one of those two.

chain tensioner! then you can SS that x-night 😉

when they're pulled tight they don't look that bad either and auto adjust for chain wear

'that traitor suffers from pompino-alike-ism'
Naaah the traitor is far sweeter, proper tubing and nicer all round. Nothing against Pompinos BTW.

Nicely built CrossCheck there phil.

Silver rims that's what sets your build off. See those on the Traitor? well they're gash. Black rims with silver braking surfaces horrid. However I have to stand behind my belief in function over form.....

I'll probably get stoned for this, but ugly as they are the my Singlecross is by far the most fun 'cross frame I've had - & I've been through a few. Was pretty much the cheapest too.

Could be that the "fit"'s just right for me, but it inspires confidence. Bit portly, but easily solved with a few upgrades.

Thanks epic that's a good starting point.
The type a mate had ages ago were more like brake boosters with 2 pivot points.
