Only ever ridden MTBs and never ridden any sort of road bike.

I am contemplating getting this

http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/ebwPNLqrymode.a4p?f_ProductID=12966&f_SupersetQRY=C438&f_SortOrderID=1&f_bct=c003155c018341

for my 3 mile commute(relatively flat but with one steep climb at the end) and occasional trips to the shops etc
Looks decent value to me but should I be looking at anything else?

That looks good and would do the job very well ๐Ÿ™‚

My only other suggestion would be a Tricross SS CX bike, or a cheap S/H 70s racer style.

Having done similar myself, if you buy that I suspect you'll very much enjoy it.

That looks great for under 300 quid, go for it.

+1

I spent that much building a second hand roadie into a SS. Wish I'd gone for something like that. Also at that price you won't mind a little scrape here and there.

Imagine how you'd feel if they ran out of the size you want!

Get one, you will regret it if you don't.
