So, I've got a frame and forks at the powder coaters at the minute, building up a bike for my 9 year old daughter.

I'm in the process now of ordering in all the other parts I don't have and headset is one of them.

Now I have a spare ahead stem, and wondered if it was possible to use that instead of finding an appropriate quill stem.

Aye, you can buy a quill adaptor which is basically a quill bottom and a wee stub of steerer. Looks like a horrible bodge and weighs quite a bit but works fine.

D'oh, hadn't thought of that, what a numpty.

Anyone got a link to a good cheap 1-1/8th threaded headset and adapter?
