Here's mine, a quiver-killer if ever there was one - been road riding, touring, cross riding, enduro riding & will bike-pack once it's gone out of fashion.
It'll be getting a proper cassette (13-26 or 11-28 8 speed) and Thudbuster. Am getting some spacers made up to run the dynohub wheel with my SC32s on the fattie too.

How have you found a 24mm dynohub???
Triple haters gonna hate.
Good luck Al.
soma_rich - MemberHow have you found a 24mm dynohub???
Nope, am getting spacers made to make std dynohub fit the SC32s.
Looks great.
Would you not be better bodging some single ring at the front, just for simplicity and lack of knackering kit...?
I could I guess, but I don't find a triple that debilitating TBH.
I had a wee test ride around on Saturday and think this is pretty much set up as I want. I may have an old rear mudguard on standby, in case it gets really grim. The spikes were not really needed except for a few short stretches, but by yesterday the ice was almost all gone. Good resistance training though 🙂
Will put a triple on lurcher if I get time, otherwise it'll be as seen. Mukluk and Krampus on standby. Liking your steed Al.

Teh Shand is a thang of great beauty.
Devs- since I still seem to be the only one doing it on a normal bike am I still OK to pinch your old ice tyres? 😉
Of course. You only need to ask once. We don't do gazumping up here don't you know 🙂
We do down here, that's why I'm having to race with Mavis 😡
I'll be riding this in a pair-

Doing it as a pair. Only got the one pair of tyres so hoping for a relatively ice free year!

richpips: What frame bag is that on the 2nd pic? I'm after something similar for my commuter, but most frame bags I've seen are far smaller than yours.

It's one I made myself.
Had I known you were doing it on a fatbike I'd not have done it at all. Can't have someone being more attention seeking than me in my team 😡
(gies a go?)

Good stuff, I think I may have to go that route I think. 8)
I have a spare 😉
I was actually going to do it on my Bandit but will take the fat bike in case there's more snow

Nice. Is that a Sturmey Archer? How do you find it on a trail bike? More info please!
It is indeed a Sturmey Archer. I'm using it with a 34t chainring and the supplied 20t sprocket. I look at it as singlespeed +, just hack around as a singlespeed but have an extra wee climbing gear for when the trail heads up and a higher gear for the flat and downhills. I really wanted to keep the clean lines and keep it simple mechanically, it all seems to be working so far.
I'd have got the Genesis instead of that Puffin 🙂

I'm in awe of your shed tidiness, Brian.
I'm in awe of your shed tidiness, Brian.
You need to keep tidy if you have a small garage but it needs to house:
-a dozen bikes
- a dozen frames
- a dozen retro forks
- one BMW motorcycle in bits
- the entire Sturmey back catalogue, at least one of each
- approx 30 odd shaped handlebars
- several boxes of spare drivetrains, the stranger the better
among other things 🙂

Shoosh you! 😡
My Longitude might be ready by the Puffer anyway, I'll be bringing it if it is 😀

It must be light - the tyres don't touch the floor!
Well, why have ice tyres when you can hover above the slippy stuff?
It's going to be slippy. Rest assured.

Just completed. Needs some fine tuning and mudguards. Weighs about 12kg.

What frame is that Epicyclo...?
It's going to be slippy. Rest assured.
The only thing the various weather forecasts seem to agree on, is that it isn't going to pour with rain for 24hrs. I'll take that.
I'm still hoping I'll need to use my Mukluk
*does moar snowdancing*
Epicycles bike looks like an ICANBIKES set up.. Very nice..
In Top Gear style we have a fatbike as a lurker in case any of the riders totals their bike...
Epicyclo- time for a first run for your annual course updates? 😉

Sorry, don't have my usual transport so don't have time this year.
But the snow has been bucketing down in Dingwall. Looks promising for the race. 🙂

So..how does it ride??
Brilliantly, it reminds me of my old Singular Gryphon but better. It's a definite keeper and I can see me putting a few miles in on it. It's just really comfy.
Good forecast for those on the Sunday early doors shift... also liking "Gentle Breeze". Aye, right.
Swavis your longitude looks ace, defo my next build and first foray into the world of 29ers hope it rides as good as it looks. What weight is it?
