As per title...I converted to 29er HT at the start of the year and I have a 26er HT that won't ever be ridden again that will be morphing into a cheap-ish 1x9 rigid 29er build over the next couple of weeks.

Idea's and inspiration required please guys 😀

Cheers.

Plenty here:

http://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/lets-see-those-29er-rigids-327678.html

I'm going through the same process by the way but have settled on a Singular Swift - just trying to get the cash together :o)

This is my Unit and its been great, I do fancy a change though and shortlisted are the Cotic Solaris or a Chinese carbon job.

If Angus Young and Animal off the Muppet Show could be distilled into one bike =

Ok not the cheapest option, but honestly, if fun and handling are in the VFM equation it's well worth the £.

Fenred,

Nice to here from you!

I would keep an eye out for a nice Scandal frame to start your project.

here is my Scandal again! 😉

This bike weighs nothing compared to my full bouncer and flies up hills. The 1 x 10 set up works brilliantly and the full rigid makes the rocky, off road stuff interesting.

Here it is at 1500 feet!

bish - Loving that monkey!

tk - How you doing mate? Scandal was on the shopping list but bought khani's GF x-cal frame (even lighter) to kick the project off. Just waiting on delivery of exotic carbon forks to get things rolling....Should be a nice light build! V inspired by your "that blue" scandal tho 8)

tazzy - They are all just mental

Greedy? and bikes? does not compute? 🙂

I would say, if money allows, you should have a new bike regularly!

In a way I really miss the Inbred, for what it cost it was a fab bike. The Niner is nice though. Very light & so comfy. Did Cannocks Monkey Trail on it tonight, clearly not the right tool for it, but held its own. 🙂

My second Sw…everyone knows what it is! After the dry winter it’s now getting lots of use in the recent spell of near continuous moisture. Has a Surly rather than WTB cog and XT 780 rather than Candy 1 pedals in photos.

Borrowed this off a mate a couple of weeks back

[IMG] [/IMG]

It's the prototype scandal 29er frame built up rigid and it's bloody ace. Have to give it back soon but I'll be building up my own.

Ribs are sore this morning after last night's ride though.

Fenred,

Don't let the S/S brigade bully you too much! I tried it but found it limiting so converted to 1 x 10. Now I have a bike that will do most things! 😉 except bounce, but I have one of them anyway! 😀

Nice bike, may I know what frame is that? And also what frame size (centre to centre), stem length and rise?

Thank You.
