Looking at doing the SDW double later in the summer and reckon a drop bar might fit the bill - inspire me!

Yep - same here, but with a retroshift type setup for gears

They're Magura HS66 dropbar levers, mated to some older Magura Julie calipers. Shouldn't work, it being a mix of closed and open systems, but it has so far (2 years and counting ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Both systems use the same hose and olives as Magura rim brakes, so pretty easy to set up. It does require bleeding every few months as air does creep in. But as it's mineral oil it's easy to do.
