I am such a spoiled git and I am getting bored of my carbon fibre framed spesh epic and although it won't change my fitness/bravery/ability to go faster/attractiveness to anyone else - I am getting the urge to change the frame. Sooo I'm looking around at what's a little more "exclusive" i.e. not sold at your major cyle shop chain.

If you think you qualify then show me yours and your justification for boutiqueness....

So do you want something that will ride really well that no one else has got, or do you just want something that no one else has got?

A bike that rides well and is not from spesh, trek, giant etc - I don't want something unique just a bit beyond the usual....

yes there bloomin well is.

There is no way that piffling little pump on the truss fork would ever do the endomorph without an arm action more furious than a safari park chimp and you've got a blinkin crud catcher. EXPLAIN YOURSELF YOUNG MAN, OR GO TO SEE THE HEADTEACHER

Never had a puncture with the fat tyre in 11 months 😉 - I use it to adjust the pressure from trail to road use. Oh and it's a Larry, not an Endomorph - get it right 😉

Crudcatcher? Yep - no need to justify that either.

It was boutique when I bought it (first one in the country) but seem to be reasonably common now.

Is this a 'who's got the silliest bike' thread? 😀 Cheeze there's some ridiculous contraptions...

Dunno about 'boutique', but you can only get these from one place in the UK, and it's designed by bloke in a shed in California, and if you type in 'Rock Lobster 853' into Google, one of the first images is of me!!!

Check pon dem skilz. Actually being ridden, not just propped up against something to be photographed...

I would have thought that 'Boutique' is something you'd only find in limited outlets, or in very limited numbers. Whilst 'Mainstream' would be something you could buy in any bike shop.

Doesn't bloody matter though, does it? It's a flippin' bike, not some sort of magical Golden Fleece....

Can someone please define "boutique" and "mainstream" for me.

take a perfectly functional bike/frame from one of the large (but very good) bike manufacturers ie Trek, Spesh etc and multiply the cost by 2 or 3.

Then you have boutique

simples 😆
