my girlfriend and i have found a modern converted barn to let in the middle of the warwickshire countryside, on a farm.
it is surrounded by fields, footpaths etc spin out from the house.
good town access, 4miles one way, 3 miles the other with a local shop 1 mile down the road.
local pub is 1 mile away and does a good pint/food with a river in the garden.
farmer has offered me large storage space for bikes and workshop too!
i am all for it but she has slight reservatons, am i being rosy eyed or will it turn out to be like straw dogs?

Do it, she's only worried it's a bit further to her other fella's for when you're out biking.

Sounds fantastic. Do it, I'd love to. Too frightened to give up my job yet though. 🙄

do you both work from home?
if not you've got to get there somehow. if that's in the car, you might be a lot better off being closer to work....

Why? Ride in to work, or, heaven forbid... public transport.

Quality of life's higher!

Leave her, she's clearly demented!

You'll have to buy yourself a gun cabinet though, and a pair of decent wellies!

are either of you from the countryside? if not, do not do it.
kiss convenience goodbye and get used to driving, a lot.
the countryside is lovely to visit but to live in is completely different.

never lived in a city,no tell a lie i did when i was at newcastle place of learnage.
however what i have allways done is made my mooves around bikes and hills.
the problems you face are the same really..need a job so best find one.
living in north west wales i was a home owner at 21 riding my bike as much as my heart desired and happy, all funded by 17k a year.

job is fluid enough to allow me to work from home too.

only shame is there are not too many hills nearby, but plenty of trails!

I've usually travelled as well, so close to the wife's work is number one priority. Sounds like you've found it.
