Should I get new road bike tyres?

I've got Schwalbe Pro One in 28c, not especially worn but quite gummed up with sealant I can't remove, makes them hard to fit and remove, and they have cuts so they weep.  I can get Vittoria Rubino Pro IV in 32c for £30 each. Worth it?  I think the extra size would be quite nice?

I'm finding wider tyres better in general so I'd go for it.

IME Rubino Pros are a *lot* more sketchy than Pro Ones. I'd avoid them.

I think the opposite! I find Rubinos to be far more durable and with better wet grip.

Wider is better, especially if running tubeless as the lower pressure you can run the more chance you have of the sealant working. No idea on those specific models though, I use 35mm Conti GP5000ASTR's over winter

Assuming your frame/mudguards have the clearance, wider is definitely more comfortable and less sketchy in the wet.

Yes get new tyres - once the tubeless setup goes messy and high maintenance it's time to start again. And if wider will fit, that's your moment to size up.

(also - are you lot disagreeing about the same compound Rubinos?)

I doubt a 30c Rubino will be any larger than a 28 pro one.

In my experience Pro ones inflate bigger than stated size, while Vittorias (Rubinos and Corsa paves) are more true to size.

Rubinos are decent for the money. I've Zaffiro Pro's in 25c on two bikes and they behave very well on crappy gritty country lanes. They haven't cut up. PS - my bikes take 25c max. The Vittoria sizing is pretty spot on.

I'd personally get another set of Pro Ones, great tyre.  Wider if you feel like it, but as said earlier they do inflate widely anyway.

Yes, I would try the Vittorias. Rubinos are great for a winter tyre. The Corsa N.Ext is also very good. Slightly faster and slightly more expensive, probably worth a tenner extra to be honest.

Basically I want nice tyres but I don't want to spend much more than £30.  If anyone knows any other bargains, I'd appreciate a tip 🙂

My bike came with 28c Rubinos, they seem fine to me. Part of my usual road route is on a cycle path which is currently covered in wet leaves and I haven't died yet.

At 28mm just get some tubes. Is tubeless really any better at that size, especially with the extra cost and general faff?

The question is if it's worth going to a larger size.  But I bought some now anyway.
