I see in the new MBR theres a small piece about a Thompson stem faceplate cracking.Thompson say these contact parts should be replaced every 3 years with regular use and 5 years with light use.My Thompson Elite post is now 11 years old and on its 5th frame.So should i replace it? It seems ok but i guess these things fatigue over time.This isn't a case of wanting something new and shiny, as I'd probably just get another the same anyway.

Yes, you must dispose of it immediately at an approved hazardous waste plant - or just post it to me and I'll look after it for you.
