Should a SRAM AXS equipped bike come with a charger?

Just bought a Vitus Rapide FS CRX in the crc fire sale, and it came fully built, but no charger for the axs battery. Is that normal with a new bike?

It didn't come with any other box of new bike stuff, like reflectors and bells and manual etc. I get the feeling a box of accessories has been missed out.

I'll contact them tomorrow if I can get through, but I wonder what's "normal"?

I purchased an AXS equipped Sonder Camino and charger was supplied.
I would expect one.

All the AXS equipped bikes I e ever sold always had a charger in the box and got passed to the buyer. This was via a physical shop though not via an on line retailer having a closing down sale at basement bargain prices

My last AXS mech didn’t come with a battery, never mind a charger.

I imagine the saving you made will enable you to afford the charger without too much stress, no?

That’s what I’d do, rather than kick off at folk who are being made redundant in the next couple of weeks that the bike you saved a fortune on doesn’t have a £35 charger included

Same bike bought a month back came with an AXS box that contained charger/cable/instructions etc.
It also came with warranty cards and tubeless valves for the wheels. Spare mech hanger, spare covers for the cable ports into the frame for 0, 2 & 3 cables. Reflectors, bell, multi tool etc etc.

@sl80, that's what I expected. Every complete bike I've ever bought came with a box of stuff, some useful, some landfill. Cable.port covers would be especially useful, as I want to put a dropper on. Was expecting I'll need to drill a hole in the cover that's there

Oh, I didnt even check for a battery, just assumed it was on the mech already.

I got a red axs box with battery, charger, cable in. Then an accessories box with all the tubeless valves, hanger for regular mount mech (nice touch), tool kit, docs etc.

The mech wakes up with movement so whenever travelling or moving the bike over distances but not actually riding the bike then it's best to take the battery out I believe

Good luck at the moment - you got something very cheap - just buy a charger.

None of my bikes came with one. They are 'old fashioned'.

As you know AXS mechs sold separately don’t come with a battery or charger, a new bike should do and these items aren’t cheap. Honest mistake by a team under a lot of stress at CRC. OP wasn’t kicking off rather asking a question, bit of an unwarranted response IMHO.

cant seem to get the quoting right, but cheers at razorrazoo, that's exactly it. I wasn't even sure what there should've been. There won't be any kicking off for sure, but I will try and get the missing bits, and I won't feel guilty about that. It's not the people being made redundant who are paying for it. It's Mike Ashleigh.

Anyway, thanks for all the constructive replies, pretty clear a box or two was missed from the packing, so I'll get in touch and see what they can do.

As you know AXS mechs sold separately don’t come with a battery or charge

Except the two I've bought and another two I know of have.

Everything AXS I’ve ever bought came with a charger whether it be individual mech or complete bike.

OK, well some AXS derailleurs may come with battery’s then (happy to be wrong), but others certainly don’t (I’m looking at upgrading to T-Type derailleur only and the ones I see don’t).

My general point still stands.

No, its nothing to do with Mike Ashleigh, who has bought the name and website,he has bought none of the stock or employed any of the front line staff. The people losing out are the Creditors of Wiggle/CRC.

I receive a Mega a few days ago, so should be similar to a Vitus delivery. You should have very red Sram AXS box with battery, cable and charger in it. Hopefully they have one kicking around that they can send you - a CRC/Wiggle voucher to say sorry doesn’t have the same appeal these days

Oh, so Ashley didn't take on the debt? I know he hasn't taken on the staff or the operation.

The bike should come with the battery, charger, cable and b screw adjuster gauge. Buying those separately is going to cost north of £80. I’d be making a call to CRC.

b screw adjuster gauge

That bit isn’t needed for Transmission mechs

The two I've bought from Europe in came without batteries, the UK shipped one I bought did. But usually your told in the listing.

It's to do with air shipping laws and lithium battery's id have thought.

OP id fully expect a complete bike to come with battery/ies and a charger in the accessories box.
