[Closed] Short ride suggestions from Blairgowrie?

Mrs PixelMix has booked us into some log cabins at Blairgowrie in April with her friends. I can probably sneak the mountain bike in the boot and nip out for a 2 hour blast while the rest of the group lazes around in bed early in the morning.

Any suggestions for riding from the door in Blairgowrie? Anything over 2 hrs will probably be frowned upon, and whilst I could jump in the car and head to Kinnoull Hill in Perth, that is a 40 mile round trip, so would take a bit of time.

Any suggestions for a quick blast?

Dunkeld is a lot closer than Perth and an awful lot more interesting on the bike than Kinoull Hill. Not sure what's around Blair though.

Dunkeld is a really nice place, plenty of places to spend a couple of hours, especially if your missus likes walking. I'd aim for there, see if she'll either look around or walk for a few hours and explore the area around the hermitage, that's the best place for walking too.

Good call re Dunkeld - thanks. I've walked around the Hermitage plenty of times before, but never explored by bike. That looks like being a good option if I can't ride from the door then.

Thanks cupra. There is a good site for that trail. Could maybe head along to Alyth on there, or head north for a bit, as it seems to suggest that the Blackcraig Forest is reasonable for biking. I accept that I might not find "rad" riding on a two hour bimble from Blairgowrie, but at least I can get the tyres dirty.
