Could anyone tell me which XT bits I should be getting for my Soul build? Fancy a 2 x 10 set-up but am bewildered by the options at wiggle, chainreaction etc and worried if I shop around that the bits I get will be incompatible with each other. It doesn't seem to be as simple as googling XT drivetrain as the parts tend to be sold separately. Thanks in advance
You need:
Double chain set
Front mech for double
The middle length rear mech
Cassette
Chain
Shifters (they have a switch between double and triple)
Not that difficult.
Band on front mech, double specific. I chose a bottom swing dual pull as I wanted to fit a dog fang. As shortcut says, GS rear mech.
....and don't forget to look at rosebikes for cheapy shimano
If you google for it shimano do a compatibility table - I used to have it but can't find it just now.
By the way I have an XT 2x10 set up and it is great - as good or better than Ultegra
