My square taper has died so looking for a Shimano UN72 I have done a quick search but not found any in stock.
Any idea where to look?

Thanks for that link jools I saw it earlier but was wanting a new one.

Is there much diference between the 72 and 54?

I want it for my hardtail jump bike so the strongest would be best.

They dont make UN72 anymore.

UN54 are good units, not sure there's much difference in them - I think 54 has polycarbonate cups whereas 72s had alloy.

s/h ones come up on eBay occasionally and if you're really lucky the odd NOS turns up. Ive collected a couple over the years. Should last me until the Rapture 🙂

I think i've got one in my garage. If you find it, can you let me know where it is?

Like Stoner said, UN54s are fine. Got them on two of my bikes, both of which get hammered and both still running smooth. £12 from CRC so what have you got to lose?

Remember, external bearings are the work of the devil and you WILL go to hell.
