Just after some advice on what to go for pad wise?
I was thinking of getting some Superstar pads just because they're cheap. I don't want to be spending silly money on pads but something to upgrade the performance from standard would be good.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Greg

If Xt or XTR pads fit SLX then I couldn't recommend the shimano sintered pads enough.

Super powerful (even with 160mm rotors) and very quiet in wet conditions, which is pretty impressive compared to most other manufacturers.

I'll maybe buy one set, possibly two, a year, which makes the slightly painful pricetag more bearable (just make sure you're not springing for the titanium backed ones, silly money)

£18 for a pair of sintered pads is insane!
Has anyone used Superstar pads and can compare them to the Shimano pads?

Superstar. On my 3rd or 4th set now I think, all have been great. I'm using them in XT but it's much the same thing as far as I know, they give basically the same performance as the XT pads, perhaps a little more power, and they last almost as long.

Someone might mention that they have, or had, a rep for breaking up/delaminating and it's true, but the only pad I've had suffer this way was one of the original Shimano ones 😡 It happens sometimes.

Oh, I'd say sintered pads, I just bought their kevlars but not yet tried them, I'm keenly waiting for a set of sintered ones to run out.
