I normally wear a size 46 MT90 Shimano boot but should I go up a size on the mw80 so I can wear thicker socks or is this boot a wider looser fit?

I use the same size for both & haven't suffered any issues, got em from a Wiggle firesale due to the price.
I'd have 'liked' to try on a size up to do what your suggesting but only the occasionally did the worst of last winters weather actually caused me issues (sunny midland not deapest scotchland though)

I wear winter socks under my MT90s too and my MW80s are the same size.

I have size 45 shimano shoes and mw80 boots. Unless you're planning on wearing really thick hiking socks I shouldn't think you need to go up a size.

In lovely sunny Ireland I find I wear the mw80s about 8 months of the year so I prefer a good fit with normal sock. When it gets really cold I find thermal liners don't bulk things up too much and fit fine. But as with z1ppy, it's probably not as cold here in the depths of winter as it is in Scotland.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. 🙂
I'm going for a size up as I really want to get thick socks in them since I often ride in freezing conditions in winter and really suffer from cold feet. Cycle Surgery are selling them for £112.49 at the mo and the next gen (mw81) doesn't sound any different according to my LBS.

I take 46 in civvy shoes, 47 in most cycling shoes but I had to go to 48 in MW80s which are excellent.

I went up a size in MW80's that way you can wear nice cosy merrino hiking socks and have super toastie tootsies

I normally take a 45 or sometimes a 46 - I needed 47 in the mw80s with one pair of thick socks

I did the size up thing with my MW80's for wearing thicker socks in winter - things work out very well. ( still impressed by them).
Remember, if they're too tight, it can cause blood circulation issues & you end up with cold feet.

I normally take a 44. Bought a 45 after all the recommendations on here about sizing; if anything they are too big.
