Cant see any reasons why not but thought Id ask...
Are Shimano MTB shifters compatible with Shimano road chainrings (both 9 speed)?

Can't see why not, the spacing of the cassette rings are the same on mtb and road cassettes.

Good answer, he says chainrings, you say cassettes.
Generally yes, but as a sweeping statement, no.
They move the goalposts on occasions.
