being a lazy man tinkering with bicycles seems preferable to riding them today. So, I am removing a Flight Deck that came with a bike I bought last year. I have just removed the wiring from one of the levers and am wondering if replacement covers are available for the lever? Or will some electrical tape do the job? Best do it right before I re-tape the bars. They are Ultegra levers from about 8 years ago if that helps at all.
They'll be a Flight Deck unit and sensors in the classifieds soon if anyone is interested.
ok, I went ahead and removed the Flight Deck which has left some gaping holes in my levers although they are covered by the hoods and some electrical tape. Does anyone know if you can get blanking plates to cover these holes, I have tried google and it's not helping on this one. Cheers.
I am just building up my summer bike (with flight deck) and I am sure I have the blanks kicking about somewhere in the shed.
If I find them when I get home ,you can have them.
The key thing to note here is the 'somewhere in the shed ' bit ๐
This might help you find what you're looking for.
Just cut out some polystyrene to fill the gaps and tape over the top?
I am sure you can get blanks but you would be best going to your LBS and getting them through Madison.
I went to my local bike shop, it caused my head to ache.....pity my local is an Evans. Polystyrene is a good idea, ta.
Fasthaggis, if you were to find them that would be grand but I wouldn't want you left in the same position should you move away from the Flight Deck.
Found the covers (and the wee screws).
mail in profile if you still need them.
I have no intention of ever using them ,and if I ditch the flight deck I will just snip the cables .
