The product codes for the shimano centrelock rotors, what do they denote? eg SM RT97 or SM RT79 Is it a spec level, size code, or what?
I'm trying to source replacement rotors for a friend and can't find the exact same one and wondering if one with a different code will suit.

If it's 7 something or other, that's XT, 9 something or other is XTR (just like the rest of the groupset). They are, of course, interchangeable. The second digit is the "series", like XT groupsets had 770 and then 780.

For an RT78, it'll likely come in all three sizes.

I think you can get different sizes under the same code, I suspect it's groupset/quality, including spline diameter.

Sorry not to do all your homework for you honey ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, unless it's a first Generation Shimano Saint (highly unlikely to find one of them) they're all cross compatible... So don't worry which one you go for as long as the size is right.
