particularly the SLX brakes, what're they like, power wise etc?
if not, recommend some others ๐Ÿ™‚

Mmmmm, they're ok, nothing special but will do the job! (depending of course on the type of riding you're doing? Are you buying new or used? Have you got a budget in mind - could probably put some recommends your way then.

ermm, i guess 'freeriding' would be my preferred type of riding. Are shimano levers interchangeable with their calipers?

and as affordable as possible purlease, looked at saints but calipers, levers and rotors .. it all adds up

Got some second hand XTs a little while ago which apparently are very similar to SLXs and I love them.

Yes, [b]some[/b] are interchangable, just the fittings need to be the same at the lever end, but it will depend on what type of caliper and how much fluid needs get from the reservoir to the caliper, some will be over kill, others will not push enough - I wouldn't really recommend it though, you're best just finding a set at a reasonable price that do the job - if you give me a budget buddy...I might be able to help? I have a set of Saints which I don't use anymore (M800's) and they are awesome! Not expensive if you buy 2nd hand either!!
