Does anybody know what's happened? Has it closed for good?
IIRC most of the site closed a while ago and the forum only kept going, but I suppose inevitably that has gone too now.
Judging from a forum thread on BM, it all happened before they'd created some sort of alternative, like a women's section of the BM forum. I guess ultimately the site just wasn't commercially viable, which is a shame as it had a really nice vibe. In fact the SheCycles Christmas ride was one of my picks of the year, really nice, well, in the fast group anyway.
The neanderthal reaction on BM just underlines why it was a nice site to have. I'm guessing there'll be a SheCycles area on the BM forum before long, though whether BM's more profilic posters will be able to be stay away from it remains to be seen.

You get different standards of sexist drivel here and on BM. Over there it's pleasingly neanderthal in a 'me biker, you jane' sort of stylee. Whereas here it's all tinged with the sort of tragic desperation you expect from just divorced middle-aged accountants who think women have been parachuted in from a different galaxy... No offence, like, but there's something really quite sad about it and, to be honest, the women who encourage the whole thing by playing up to the helpless totty image. But there you go 🙁

She cycles have a face book site though so maybe we could all use that instead. It doesn't get quite as mad or bogged down with a lot of rubbish on this site sometimes!!!

Thats an absolute gem 😆 some of the women really do play up to it where as others a don't even realise there woman as they don't attract or probably stand for such shite, such as mamadirt or tracy despite the obvious name giveaway. The ladies also seem to attract a far greater response to threads from some of posters.
