Schwalbe One and Pro One difference?

As title - what is the actual difference between the Schwalbe One and the Pro One. The Pro One seems to have marginally better protection acording to the Schwalbe bar chart thingy but it's billed as a race tyre rather than all round so are there any other important differences to be aware of if not using for racing? Like must never be riden in the wet or something?

Schwalbe also say you MUST use Doc Blue sealant and ride for 25km immediately after installation to guarantee sealing for the Pro One which it doesnt say for the One. Why is that do you suppose?

Basically I'm after a tubeless road tyre that will hold air better/be better in general than the frankly useless Specialized Mondo....

Better carcass and different rubber.

I have the pro one, used caffelatex and didn't ride immediately and they are fine.

Be interested to see how this develops, just ordered some Pro Ones with new wheels.. unusually for me, didn't spend far too much time reading/watching reviews...

That's useful to know, thanks. Can't decide whether the 32mm GP5000s TL would be a better/more comfortable option.

I'm using Pro Ones with Stan's Race. They are impeccably behaved regarding tubeless. The rear lasted several thousand miles, not sure how many, but perhaps could have lasted a bit longer? Dunno if Ones are harder wearing or not.

What are they like in the wet - are they any good as a winter road tyre or are they best kept for summer only?

All getting confusing, now you can get "tube type" Pro Ones, when I thought all Pro Ones were tubeless.

Although it could be me living under a rock, not bought a Schwalbe road tyre for 6+ years, until recently buying a 25mm "tube type."

Not sure what to expect compared to a 25mm standard GP5000, guess I'll find out shortly.

Actually I used the wrong product name above - the new GP5000s is the TR not TL

im a fan of Schwalbe though as I used them exclusively on my MTB, setup tubeless with zero issues - Rocket Rons, Racing Ray/Ralphs. The Specialized Mondo is awful by comparison, pisses air out of the sidewalls and Stan’s standard sealant doesn’t cure it. I’ve warranty replaced 2 of them and the replacements are no better.

I’ve got some Stan’s Race in stock after a PSA on here so I fancy trying a different and hopefully better tyre with the Race sealant in ..

The One occupies the same slot as the old Durano and the Pro One the Ultremo.

I use both and Conti's GP's and all are just fine and dandy. I use them tubed and tubeless, dependant on bike and have had no issues in either configuration.

I swap front to rear part way through and got 5k miles out of my last pair of Pro One's which I think is exceptional. Duranos I used to get even more so hopefully One's will follow suit.

Which of the Pro One or the GP5000 is better suited to winter road riding or are they much the same? I’m talking about north east UK winter weather…

My Pro One on the front had all its tread after 2 years and however many miles, but it had various small nicks so I put it on the back and the new one on front, to use up the tread before age gets it

The newer tyre seems a little different? Rubber change maybe from 3 years ago?

I think I’ll stick a Pro One on then. I’m off the bike at the mo anyway due to a hernia op so I’ll do it when I’m match fit again (although I’ll probably be over the weight limit for the tyre by then!!!🙄😂).
