Afternoon all
I've seen a few people mentioning SMP saddles lately and I'm gonna give them a go.
What I'd like to know is, did any of you get your backsides measured, and what size saddle you went for then?
I'm gonna get a few test saddles to try and wondered about sizes.

Anyone on the evening shift?
There is a size chart on the website. They go off waist size, not sure how accurate it would be, if you're carrying a bit of timber your sit bones don't grow.
There are some recommendations on bearbonesbikepacking site. The TRK seems popular.
Search google for smp steve hogg.
Everything you want to know about smp saddles.
I went for a Lite209 saddle. Now got three. Quite pricey though.
i bought one a week or so ago. coming from using a brooks b17 saddle, which was quite wide.
i bought the TRK model. it fits me perfect.
a couple of long term bum boils i had got used to living with, now seem to be clearing up. there do not seem to be any pressure points when using the smp saddle.
fingers crossed eh.
ton,its the TRK I'm looking at. What size did you get, medium or large? I've got a Spa Nidd at the moment so not too different to the B17.
i got the one on crc.
280mm long 160mm wide.
I'm using SMP Hell saddles on two bikes. I really like them. Got them from bike inn. I think i'll end up with a drakon on my road bike.
I went for a Lite209 saddle
Also have the lite209. Very comfy saddle.
I actually went to the UK distributor with my hardtail and road bike and tried out every saddle they had (including the eye watering £400 full carbon saddle)
Just thought I'd add a thought to this, just got a SMP Plus, no backsides measured but sounded about right.
And, after a little bit of tweaking of the angle, my goodness it's brilliant! Seriously, amazing. Been using SDG bel air or WTD saddles for the last few years, and thought they were comfy, but Jesus tonight that SMP is bloody fantastic. Noticed it everywhere, zero pain or discomfort at all after a 2.5hr ride. Nothing. Nada. Even my best days on previous saddles required some concious out of the saddle movement to relieve some pressure, but not today.
And really steep climbs? Whilst not exactly like sitting on a pillow, getting right to the front was not really an issue either.
I'm in love! (And thanks to Ton for pointing me towards them, would never have noticed)
I had a TRK when I fractured my coccyx. It was comfy as for that duration. When I healed up, I went back to my usual razor blade 😉
I've got the TRK in both sizes at the moment as test saddles, and I have to agree they're great. I think I'm leaning toward the medium so far, but I've got them for another week so will hold fire on the final choice.
When the good weather gets here, I think I'll look at getting something for the best bike as well. Very impressed so far.
