Meant to be heading out for a ride on Saturday and my buddy has just found his brakes don't work 🙁 Don't really want to spend the morning faffing with bleed kits (don't actually know what the problem is yet) so was optimistically hoping to pick up a cheap pair of Deores from somewhere. Will try Bristol Bike Workshop on the morning; any others?

Bike by the triangle at the top of park street? (If it's still called that). Other than that you have Evans / Mud Dock, cycle republic all in the middle of Bristol.

Sorry - didn't read that properly - none of the above do second hand parts. Not aware of many shops that do - deore brakes are cheapy cheap anyway though surely?

Send It Cycles are Bristol based, although not sure they have a shop to speak of.
Give them a ring or drop them an email via the site, I'm sure they can sort something out.
I've dealt with them a few times for 2nd hand bits & they've been great.
You can even see what brakes they've got on the website & how much they'll cost you!

Shame its not bike jumble time. I can do you a deore LX rear for £15 if that helps. Working fine when it came off, just given it a squeeze and it feels fine. Just off Gloucester Rd.
